A.S. Roma Wants To Sign Juan Mata

A.S. Roma is reported to be interested in Man United’s star, Juan Mata, as a plan B after they failed to sign the Algerian forward, Riyad Mahrez, who plays for Leicester City, 2015/2016 Premier League surprise champions.

A.S. Roma wants to find a solution for their attack after the departure of the Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah, to Liverpool this summer as the most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history.

A.S. Roma  wanted to sign Mahrez but the high demanding price is making it complicated which exceeds 53M USD . In addition, Juan Mata’s contract ends this season which makes it easier to sign him instead of going for free at the end of the season unless the contract is extended.

Mata joined Man United from Chelsea in 2014 for 44.73M Euros and played 146 matches and scored 34 goals while assisting 61 goals. Mata was expected to leave Old Trafford last summer after the arrival of his old manager, Jose Mourinho, who sold him to United from Chelsea in January 2014.

There are several replacements for Mata now such as Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford,Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Anthony Martial.
