Man United Vs Chelsea Players Ratings And Man Of The Match.

It was a really tough match for Man United where Chelsea dominated the possesion int he first half, and Man United had just two attempts on Chelsea by Rashford and Matic, which the ball went out of the field. High rythem but very few chances for both teams who had played a tactical first half. Mourinho played with a parked bus, which chained Young and Valencia offensively. However, Man United has lost, 1-0, for the second time this season away from home.

Our players ratings are as the following:

De Gea: Some world class and good saves. Again, no match without De Gea impressing. 7/10

Smalling: Not the best match, but defended well. 6/10

Bailly:  Was tackling in a dangerous was that could cost him and Man United to play with 10 players if he gets a red card. 6/10

Jones: Was one of the best in United’s back line. Booked. 6/10

Young:  An average match. We didn’t seem him a lot 6/10

Valencia: We didn’t see him a lot offensively. Was a bit shaky. 6/10

Matic: Was close to score against his former club, good in the midfield but also, not the best. missed the ball in his 18 yard area instead of clearing it. 6/10

Herrera: Average match. Fought for some balls. Booked 6/10

Rashford:  With such defense and marked by Chelsea players, it’s hard to see the best of him. Mourinho had to play Martial instead due to his ability of playing without the ball and with tight defense, according to Mourinho. 5/10

Mkhitaryan:  One of the worst matches this season. No effect at all. 4/10

Lukaku:  He tried, but couldn’t score. Such matches are the worst for Lukaku where he is surrounded and marked by defenders. Can’t really blame him, but he is far away from his top form.

Subs:

Fellaini:  Fellaini’s elbow got him booked, again…  But tried to help in offense and defense as well. 6/10

Martial: the whole team was isolated. It’s hard to make the difference alone. 5/10

Lingard: N/A

Man of the match: Non of the players really deserves it. Maybe De Gea, like usual, was the one who saves Man united from conceding more goals.

Jose Mourinho (Manager): Not sure who to blame, one of United’s worst matches this season. Is it because of injuries or lack of tactics or what? Mourinho needs to find solutions to this dramatic decline in United’s performance before the Man City derby, which will decide who will win the league. 5/10
