Man United 0-0 Southampton Players Ratings And Man Of The Match

Manchester United is going through the worst results under Jose Mourinho since his arrival in the summer of 2016. An awful end of the year, 2017, after losing the second place for Chelsea and getting just three points in the last three matches out of nine possible points with three consecutive draws, and getting knocked out from the EFL Cup against the Championship side, Bristol City.

This isn’t the Manchester United everyone looking for and wants to watch, defending against Southampton which barely has few players that can score.

Here are our player ratings and man of the match for today’s match

De Gea:  Saved Man United from a dangerous ball with his leg, a good match like usual. 7/10

Jones:  We didn’t see him a lot, average match. 6/10

Young: Was always trying and crossing, had one dangerous cross in the 30th minute but seemed a bit nervous at some moments. 6/10

Lindelof: Had an amazing pass, other than that, not a very good match. 5/10

Shaw: Tried to contribute in the attack, but had a lot of misplaced passes and crosses, not his best match. 5/10

Pogba:  One of his worst matches, and cost Man United two valuable points after he touched Martial’s goal that was going through the net, was it selfishness in such critical match? 4/10

Matic: Not his best performance with Manchester United. 6/10

Mkhitaryan: Had some good moments, but he seemed he lacks confidence. Got subbed off. 5/10

Lingard: Good first half, but average second half. Maybe from the very few players who were “OK” today but not enough. 6/10

Mata:  Was trying all the time and dangerous, he was always moving tactically but couldn’t break through Southampton alone. 7/10

Lukaku:  Got injured in the very first minutes of the match. N/A

Subs:

Martial: Was trying and close to score, but just if Pogba didn’t touch the ball. 6/10

Rashford:  Was dangerous and trying, had a chance in the 27th minute to pass to Lingard, but didn’t. 6/10

Man of the match: None of the Manchester United players really impressed today, Southampton were even better at some points. Maybe David De Gea deserves a mention for saving Manchester United and giving them at least a point instead of a loss.

Jose Mourinho (Manager): Manchester United is going through the worst times with Mourinho now, something is clearly wrong and his tactics in the second half where he didn’t change anything. Mourinho has 24 hours to start doing his job in January… 3/10
