Jose Mourinho: I Am Naive To Let Jones Play With England

According to the English outlet, The Mirrors, Jose Mourinho, Manchester United’s manager, has admitted that he feels naive for letting Phil Jones leave during the international break.

Jose Mourinho has admitted today in a pre match press conference ahead of Newcastle United match on Saturday, that his decision to let Phil Jones leave the club during the international break to join his national team, England, to play two friendly matches against Germany and Brazil was “Naive” which Mirrors described it as “fool” in its latest release.

Phil Jones, Manchester United and England’s defender, picked up an injury 10 minutes after starting against Germany, and played for 14 with his injury before he collapse again and gets subbed off. Phil Jones was already suffering an injury before leaving to the international duty, which was the reason Jose Mourinho fired at Gareth Southgate, England’s manager, for playing Phil Jones in a friendly match.

Mourinho said:” always players with minor issues like flue or toe pain, stay with their clubs in the international break and have a rest and holiday. But some mangers are naive (holding up his hand to point it at him self ‘me’), too pure and they say you have to go to the international duty and the players go and sometimes the players and clubs pay the price”

Mourinho admitted that Jones was suffering from an ongoing injury, and that he should have kept him at the club to rest, instead of letting him go and play with an ongoing injury.
