Jose Mourinho, Manchester United’s manager, has confirmed that Jesse Lingard, who was subbed off before the second half, has a suspected injury in Man united’s 2-0 win against Benfica in the Champions League.
Jesse Lingard received a knock on his back, which forced Mourinho to sub him off before the beginning of the second half for Mkhitaryan. However, Mourinho confirmed that Lingard left the pitch with a suspected back injury, and was in a severe pain.
Mourinho said:” We don’t have significant injuries, just Lingard’s back injury. I hope it’s not serious”. However, Mourinho didn’t confirm whether Lingard will be able to play against Chelsea in the must win match for Man United on Sunday to stay in the title race with Man City who is on the top of the Premier League table with 28 points, while Man United has 23 points.
Knowing that Manchester City has a crucial match on Sunday as well against Arsenal, and any of the four teams losing any more points, except Man City, means that they are getting further from the title.
